What I'm shooting for!

Yesterday, I asked my spin instructor a very personal question, which I'm glad she answered.  I asked her what she weighed.  You see, I've been trying to figure out what a body looks like at "X" lbs.  A lot of thin people don't look very toned and I have no great desire to be a stick figure.  I want to look healthy, and to me, my instructor looks healthy.  I was surprised when she told me 140.   I was expecting her to say 125 (to which I would become very depressed because that seems unachievable) because the woman does teach classes almost every day.  She looks thin to me.  She's got some good muscles.

So then 140 is my target, but I know that if I reach 150, I would be happy because that's only 10 more lbs than my very fit, thin instructor!!

  1. Great idea to get some "body perspective", because then you know what you're working towards!

  2. Yeah, that's a problem... a few days ago colleagues were talking weight, and some very skinny (and ill-looking) women mentioned how they weigh 113 resp. 119 pounds - yes, now I know what I am NOT aiming for. My goal weight range (as per BMI) tells me not to get any lower than 128lbs, and I will be anywhere between there and 143lbs, as long as my body is fit and healthy. Won't know my personal ideal until I meet it, but at currently 152lbs, I am already feeling great. ^^

  3. I love this - you found a person that you thought was smaller then what you thought, a person that inspires you in your exercise routine and you felt confident enough to ask her how much she weighed to give yourself a goal. I am sure you did put a lot of thought into asking her before you did.

  4. There's a blog I started following simply because she was at my healthy goal weight per Weight Watchers (also 140) and it helps me keep a visual of where I can be someday. :)
