A Little Less Carbs

So I'm not going to do any Atkins, Zone, South Beach or Dukan.  I'm just going to for a few days try to eat limited carbs.   I don't do counting, but I am aware of carb contents in stuff.   I find that I'm bloated and retaining water, and my losses are slowing down.  I want to try to rev it up a bit.   So for two days I am going to eat low carb.  I have the 5K on Sunday morning, so I will eat carbs on Saturday.  There's a bit of research that says tricking your body by eating differently helps keep your metabolism from slowing down.  We'll see.  I'm also PCOS and my OB/GYN recommended that I eat low carb over a year ago.  I just love my carbs, you see.  I actually have eaten a lot less carbs this past year, but still probably too many!

I haven't been doing as well eating wise as I should be.  Part of this is because I'm trying not to go grocery shopping as much and eating what we have in the house.  And so I end up snacking on stuff that isn't as good for me.  Thankfully, it is almost grocery time!!

My exercise has been spot on!  Having my gym buddies and instructors as facebook friends  really helps  me from falling off the wagon there!

  1. I try to do lower carb during the week (no counting) and then on the weekend I allow myself more carbs.

  2. I love my carbs, too! I have a really hard time avoiding them, so kudos to you for trying for a couple of days. Hope it goes well for you!

  3. I love carbs too :/ (noodles!)

I read a book by Jillian from Biggest Loser and she said to never ever ever eat carbs in the evening. I've been trying to watch that.

  4. Well done on the exercise! That's really important I think :)

I'm a carboholic (?), and I thought I was going to drop dead when I did a low-carb diet. I didn't, but I sure was happy to find the carbs again. Except my scale, but that's a different story. :)

    Good luck on the 5K!

  5. I agree about mixing about what you eat. I've been following a very rigid plan but when i had a couple of very reasonable meals on holiday, no excesses but different foods to home....the weight suddenly started moving off more, similarly after a wedding when I ate differently, again the weight came off. I agree mixing about food without eating the wrong foods or too much has its benefits.
You sound to have a great team of instructors too

  6. Good luck on your 5K Jodie! I feel like I could never give up carbs but I definitely need to limit my intake. Keep us posted on how it goes.
